Happy V-Day!

Well, I'm a little sad, because this is the first Valentine's day in *years* where I haven't done cards for like every person I've ever met. That's always my thing that I do, but...between time and money and...well, time and money, it just didn't happen this year. Alas.

But it's still Valentine's Day! Hooray! My exciting plans today include...classes at the gym, working with Denise, and later tonight, going over to the girls' and continuing our newfound tradition of me-spending-the-night-Thursday-nights-and-watching-Lost-even-though-I-have-no-idea-what's-going-on. It's fun.

It's also V-Day! So check that out!

I do have a little Valentine's Day present type thing for those happy few who read this silly thing...I invented a chocolate chip cookie recipe yesterday!

I feel as though they deserve their own cheesy little name - I'm currently toying with "Half & Half Cookies," because I used half whole wheat flour & half white flour, half organic white sugar and half dark brown sugar, and half white chocolate chips and half regular. It wasn't really planned that way, it just kinda happened. But...I don't think I could bring myself to actually call them that.

Anyway - here's the recipe!

Combine 1 cup of whole wheat flour and 1 cup of white all-purpose flour and about 1/2 a teaspoon of baking powder

Combine 1 cup of dark brown sugar and 1 cup of organic sugar along with 2 sticks of half-melted organic unsalted butter in a mixer and blend

Add a generous dash of vanilla extract and 2 eggs to the mixer

Add flours to the mixer

Stir in chocolate chips by hand - as many as you like. I used a combination of white and dark chocolate chips, but whatever you have. And I also probably usea bout double the amount of chips any normal recipe will call for.

So there you go. I've still given something to the world for Valentine's Day!
